SafeMode is built with privacy-first architecture. We only receive anonymous content hashes - never the URLs you visit, browsing history, or personal information.
What Data We Collect
SafeMode operates almost entirely locally on your device. Here's exactly what happens with your data:

How Protection Works
SafeMode uses content-based detection that preserves your privacy:
- Page content is hashed locally on your device using proprietary fuzzy hashing and visual hashing algorithms
- Only anonymous hashes are sent to our servers for verification - never the URL or content itself
- We cannot identify which websites you visit - we only see content fingerprints that match known threats
- If you allow, URLs can be sent for triple verification - but never stored on our servers
No Tracking, No Ads
We do not track your browsing activity, sell your data, or show advertisements. SafeMode is funded by users who value privacy.

When you sign in with Google, SafeMode accesses limited information from your Google account. This section describes exactly what data we access, how we use it, and how we store it.

How We Use Google Data
- Authentication only: We use your Google account solely to verify your identity and create your SafeMode account.
- No browsing data access: We do NOT access your Google search history, Chrome browsing history, Gmail, Google Drive, or any other Google services.
- No data selling: We never sell, rent, or share your Google user data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
- No AI training: Your Google user data is not used to train machine learning or AI models.
How We Store Google Data
- Secure storage: Your email and profile information are stored securely in our encrypted database.
- Minimal retention: We only store what's necessary for your account to function.
- Data deletion: You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting [email protected].
Google API Services Compliance
SafeMode's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
